ABOUT

Crystal Bartkowski B.A, B.HPED, CAT(C)

Crystal Bartkowski completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Calgary, her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education degree in Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University, and her Athletic Therapy Certification at Mount Royal University. She has also completed her Reconditioning Level 1 Certification. As an Athletic Therapist, Crystal's scope of practice includes the prevention, assessment, emergency and acute management, rehabilitation and reconditioning of acute and chronic musculoskeletal athletic injuries.

Crystal has worked with a variety of athletes and teams, including:​

  • University of Calgary Wrestling and Track and Field teams 

  • Mount Royal University Men’s Hockey team 

  • Team Alberta Rugby

  • 2018 Judo National Championships

  • Airdrie Bantam AA Lightning Hockey team

  • Mount Royal University Men’s Rugby Club

With a strong background as an athlete herself, she was drawn to Athletic Therapy. Crystal takes a functional, exercise-based approach to injury rehabilitation. Her goal is to help athletes recover from injury so they can get back to doing what they love with optimal performance. Through educating the individual on proper mechanics, she works to ensure future injury prevention is part of the process.

  • Injury treatment and rehabilitation

  • Biomechanical and athletic performance assessment

  • Concussion baseline testing and implementation of the return-to-play protocol

  • Sports Medicine field coverage
